This cute little mother kangaroo and her joey are perfect pair to wrap up your little one. A little treat for my Australian fans down under. This pattern was inspired by my parents time in Sydney (along with the Koala). The Gray Kangaroos quilt at the end was a custom request. Kind of fun to see it in the more muted colors. That is the great thing about ordering a pattern to me, you get to still have a part in the creative process.

* 3 sizes: The main instruction is for the Crib size 36"x42", with additional pages for a smaller 24”x28” and larger 48"x56".

Use the small size as a wall hanging, or to be a part of a larger quilt, perhaps paired with another of my animal patterns. The Middle size is great for a Baby Quilt with or without borders. The large size is perfect for a Toddler bed, Throw quilt for TV watching, or border it to make a Twin or even Full bed. It is really up to you.

*Skill Level: Beginner. This quilt is pieced, not applique.

The pattern lists fabric yardage, then uses charts to show the number of strips to cut and the number of pieces to cut from those strips. The entire top is then sewn using straight 1/4" seams. The shaping is done with quick corner triangles. (Examples on YouTube)

The joey's face is ironed on to the quilt top in an applique fashion, because it was too detailed for the simple style of the quilt.
