Eco-Friendly Reusable Paper Towels Embroidery Project

These reusable paper towels are perfect for reducing waste in your kitchen. Featuring a nature-inspired design, they offer a sustainable alternative to disposable towels. Suitable for everyday cleaning tasks. Step-by-step instructions are included.

  • Arbor Day Decor Designs
  • Cotton Fabric 11.5” W x 11.5”H **Note the fabric size may need to be a little larger to sew your designs on, depending on your placement of the designs. Then cut down to the 11.5” H x 11.5” W
  • Terry Cloth: 11.5” W x 11.5” H
  • Tearaway backing at least 11.5” W x 11.5” H
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Velcro 2 pieces ¼” x ½” or snaps
  • Coordinating thread

    Final Product: What You Will Create
     

    Step 1:
    Lay your designs out as you wish on your cotton fabric. Hoop 2 pieces of tearaway backing and sew your designs.

    Step 2:
    Remove the fabric from the hoop and cut fabric down to an 11.5” by 11.5” size square.

    Step 3:
    Cut the terry cloth fabric to 11.5” x 11.5” size square as well. Place fabric right sides together.

    Step 4:
    Pin the 2 pieces together along the edges.

    Step 5:
    Sew a 3/8” hem around the edges. Leave a 3” gap on one side, this gap is to turn your fabric right side out.

    Step 6:
    Tuck excess fabric from the gap in and pin it closed. Hand stitch the opening closed.

    Step 7:
    Place the 2 rough side pieces of Velcro on the right side of the cotton fabric at the top and bottom corners, about 1/8” from the sides. Tack down with a straight stitch around the Velcro.

    Step 8:
    Turn the fabric over with the terry side face up. Place the 2 smooth pieces of Velcro on the right side at the top and bottom. Tack down with a straight stitch around the Velcro.

    Step 9:
    Now your first towel is completed. Repeat steps 1-8 to complete however many towels you would like.

    Take your paper towel tube and place a piece of Velcro, rough side, at the top and bottom.
     

    Step 11:
    Attach one towel to the roll and other towels to each other.

    Now your reusable paper towels are ready to be used.
