Multi-Holiday Wine Glass Markers Embroidery Project

Description

Add festive charm to any stemmed glass with these multi-holiday wine glass markers. Perfect for celebrations throughout the year, these markers are a delightful addition for both children and adults. All designs fit the 4 x 4 hoop. Step-by-step instructions are included.

  • Vilene (center)

    Step 1:
    Hoop two layers of soluble stabilizer in a 4×4 hoop. I used two layers of Vilene (center), the clear stabilizer on the right is Badgemaster. Both dissolve in water. Sew out the design, unhoop and trim around the design, being careful as to not cut too close. Then soak it in lukewarm water for about 10 minutes. Poke a toothpick through the hole so it’s clear of any stabilizer. You want some of the stabilizer to stay for extra stiffness.

    Step 2:
    Let your design dry then pull a round wire hoop through the hole. I purchased (Elite) Better Beads Wire Hoop Assortment from the jewelry section of Hobby Lobby.

    Any of the Crafts stores will carry these or something similar.

    Step 4:
    These designs are great for guests to identify their drinks. Just place the round wire around the stem of the wine glass.

    Hi, my name is Marlene Stewart. I was born in Indiana and really have a strange career path of - secretary at a brokerage firm in Chicago. In 1972 I moved to Arkansas and became owner of a TV/VCR sales and repair, then school insurance coordinator, Realtor, bakery owner, arts & crafts, now digitize. I began teaching myself to digitize in 1992 after I purchased my first embroidery software and Brother PE150 embroidery machine since then I have upgraded software and machines. My husband is retired from the U.S. Air Force and I have a 36 year old son. My favorite part of the day is evening when my husband and I cuddle with a blanket and watch science fiction movies. I love digitizing, my husband calls it a love affair and admire the works of Thomas Kinkade.
