    Step 1:
    Hoop stabilizer and lay down a square of fabric about 5.5 x 5.5 inches. 


    Step 2:
    Run tack down stitches. Run design.


    Step 3:
    For applique it will run placement stitches to let you know where to lay down the applique fabric.


    Step 4:
    Run to the end of the center or main design. 


    Step 5:
    Lay a second square of fabric on the back of the hoop and tape to hold. 


    Step 6:
    Run the zigzag stitches and stop. Trim the front and back fabric and return to machine and finish the satin stitches.


    Step 7:
    Carefully trim the excess stabilizer from around the square and set aside. Repeat so that you have a total of 4 blocks.


    Step 8:
    Using a regular sewing machine or needle and thread stitch 2 of the blocks together with a zigzag stitch.


    Step 9:
    Repeat with the remaining blocks, and then stitch them into a tube.


    Step 10:
    Cut from wide ribbon or fabric 4 strips about 2 x 6 inches and fold in ½ length wise. Pin these strips matching them to your seams and stitch to hold.
     


    Step 11:

    From ribbon or fabric cut 8 strips about 2 x 18 inches. Pin to the bottom of the tube where desired and stitch to hold. Through the top loops run your cord for hanging.
