Get creative with this Valentine’s Day picture frame that can be placed on the refrigerator or any other metal object like a file cabinet.

Valentine Frame Design(s)

Tear Away Backing

Appliqué Fabric piece of your choice (Size: Large - 6 3/4" W x 8 1/4" H, Medium - 5 3/4" W x 7 1/4" H, Small - 4 1/2" W x 5" H)

Card Stock to hold picture in place (Size: Large - 6 1/2" W x 8 1/2" H, Medium - 5 1/2" W x 7 1/2" H, Small - 4 1/4" W x 5 1/4" H)

Double sided tape

Magnet strip 1/2"

Step 1:

Choose the design you would like to embroider then cut the appliqué piece and card stock to match. (See above for the correct sizes.)

Step 2:

Spray adhesive 4 pieces of tear away backing together.

Step 3:

Hoop all 4 pieces.

Step 4:

Embroider the design until the color stop that says “Stop for appliqué”. You will see the dieline around the outside of the frame. Remove the hoop from the machine. (Leave the design in the hoop as you will be embroidering the rest of the design.)

Step 5:

Now you will spray adhesive the corners of the appliqué piece. Just enough so that the appliqué piece will stay on the bottom of the design when it is on the machine.

Step 6:

Line up the appliqué piece with the dieline at the bottom of the design and press firmly. The top of the embroidered design will show. (That is where you will be inserting the card stock and photo when the design is completed.)

Step 7:

Carefully place the hoop back on the machine making sure that the appliqué piece does not shift or fall off. Then continue embroidering the design.

Step 8:

After the design is done embroidering. Remove it from the hoop and carefully remove the tear away backing from the outside of the design.

Step 9:

Carefully remove the tear away backing from the inside of the picture frame.

Step 10:

Place your picture in the center of the card stock and adhere with double sided tape. Then gently pull the appliqué piece away from the frame and slide the card stock into the frame.

Step 11:

You are almost done. Cut two strips of the magnet, peal of the paper from the back of the magnet and place on the top and bottom of the completed frame.
