For each design, Stabilize Linen/Cotton Fabric: Cut the
11½” x 36” piece of embroidery fabric into four 9” x 11½” pieces. We
suggest either an iron-on or sticky stabilizer for all cross stitch.
Stabilize the Linen/Cotton fabric and hoop the fabric.
Flower Babies Design Details Files: For each design,
print out and refer to each of the four flower baby design details
files, included with each machine design file to stitch the design in
the correct Color Stop order.
Select the correct filetype then center each design, stitch, and trim fabric to 5” square.
Step 1:
Cutting & Assembling Instructions Center and
embroider each Flower Baby and trim to 5” square. Print out the pattern
pieces and make templates of A, B, & C using a medium weight
cardboard or template plastic.

Cut 12 from the blue strip of fabric. Cut 8 from the yellow print

Cut lavender print into four 2¼” strips, then cut four 17” strips for border. From the remaining lavender print cut:

Sew a lavender B to a yellow C, matching tips of triangles at bottom of
triangle C and stitching bottom to top (Diagram A). Finger press seam
towards B, then add a BR to opposite side of C, being careful to match
tips again at bottom of C and stitching bottom to top.
Step 7:
Make 16 B/C units this manner. Referring to photo for placement of
yellow & blue squares, add to B/C units, working horizontally across
from left to right, making for pieced lattice strips.

Again, referring to photo, add the remaining eight B/C units to the
sides of each Flower Baby, then sew two Flower Baby units together,
making two units of two Flower Babies.

Assemble quilt in rows, being certain to match seams, beginning
with lattice strip, two Flower Baby unit, lattice strip, lattice
strip, two Flower Baby unit and finally add the last lattice strip.
Sew a lavender border strip to top and bottom of quilt. Sew a
remaining yellow print square to the ends of remaining two 17" lavender
border strips, and join to sides of quilt, matching seams. Press all
seams towards lattice strips.
Step 10:
Finishing Layer quilt, batting and large piece of
blue fabric, baste or pin. We quilted around each Flower Baby square,
and diagonally through blue and yellow patchwork squares. Then we
stitched at the seam line of quilt and border. After quilting your
design as desired, trim all excess batting, then trim excess backing to
1" all around the quilt. To make self-binding, fold in ½”of backing
towards picture. Fold again and pin and sew around quilt.
