Donate Embroidered Items as Gifts

As a business owner, you are probably deluged with requests for donations of cash or products. At times this can get annoying, but rather than be quick to say no, consider the promotional opportunities that come with the donation of embroidered goods.

For example, a North Carolina embroiderer donated a sweatshirt embroidered with a teddy bear appliqué and school name to a local school-sponsored Halloween carnival as a prize. There was no ulterior motive: they were just trying to be good neighbors. Well, the next day they were deluged with requests from mothers who had seen the donated sweatshirt. They all wanted to buy one for themselves. Totally unexpected! Today they do a lot of business with that school and several others as a direct result of that initial exposure.

In addition to schools, consider corporate events, fundraisers, church activities, etc. Whatever the cause, just make sure that you get ample credit for your contribution, otherwise you won’t receive any returns on your investment.
