Create a book of sample sew-outs

A picture is worth a thousand words. It’s imperative that you create a portfolio to show your customers what you can do. Your sew-out book needs to be professional in every detail. Do not create random sew-outs on a variety of different styles and colors of fabrics. Use white felt for everything and trim the swatches to the same size with neat edges. A professional appearance provides a professional image for your company.

Sew-outs are much more effective than pictures as they allow your potential customers to touch and feel the three-dimensional quality of embroidery. In addition, clients have a chance to see the quality of your work.

Choose the designs that go into your portfolio carefully. The more recognizable and well-known the logo, the better it is for your image. But be sure to ask each client whose logo you wish to display for permission to do so. Do not display logos of companies who are not your clients!

Grow your portfolio with your business. Keep it interesting, up-to-date, and in good condition. Take it everywhere you go and be ready to shove it into the hands of every prospective customer.
