Final Product: What You Will Create

    Preface:

The embroidery design  Autumn Leaves used is a corner design to be embroidered in the corners of the table runner. Table runner used for this tutorial is solid in color with a decorative stitched 2” border from finished edge. The size design used: 4.73”” x 4.73” If your runner does not have a decorative stitched border you may want to choose the larger sized design (5.68” x 5.68”) to compliment the corners of your runner. Refer to your machine’s instruction manual to ensure you have a large hoop to accommodate the larger size. For this tutorial the embroidery design will be stitched to the inside of the border corners. The embroidery software program listed in materials needed is an option for those who want to incorporate two corner designs into one design stitch out. If you do not have access to an embroidery software program you will be printing out two paper design templates to help with placement and will be hooping the design 4 times. For this project tutorial design was incorporated into one for hooping of the desige twice. This tutorial will show you both options of placement onto the runner. Six colors of embroidery threads are used. Refer to design thread color chart for colors. Marking dots (Avery color coding labels) were used in this tutorial which is another option for marking axis points versus using a fabric air erase pen.

    Step 1:

Gather all supplies and review instructions before beginning. For those using an embroidery software program bring the Autumn Leaves into you program’s design space. Incorporate both designs to fit within your application area corners on your runner. You will need to size up the application area and resize your design to fit. Print out a paper design template. For all others print out two paper design templates.
