Step 1:
The Color Sequence Chart below will be referred to throughout these instructions.
Step 2:
Cut
a. A piece of felt (4 x 6.5 inches)
b. A piece of mylar (4 x 6.5 inches)

Hoop the water-soluble stabilizer.
Step 4:
Sew the Placement stitches (#1 in Color Sequence Chart). Use the same color thread you will use for the satin border around the design.

Step 5:
Place the mylar over the placement stitches and sew the tack-down stitches (#2 in the Color Sequence Chart). Use the same color thread that you will use for the satin border.

Step 6:
Sew the inside motif design of the cross (#3 in the Color Sequence Chart). These stitches will attach the mylar to the stabilizer.

Step 7:
Sew the decorations and letters (#4 in the Color Sequence Chart).

Step 8:
Remove the hoop from the machine and use temporary adhesive spray to attach the felt to the back of the design- making sure all of the design is covered. (Turn the hoop right side up and hand press the felt to the back of the design.)

Step 9:
Return hoop to machine and sew the cross outline (#5 in the Color Sequence Chart)—use the same color thread you will use for the satin border.

Step 10:
Remove the hoop from the machine and carefully trim around the front and back of the design without removing design from hoop. The mylar will tear away easily, but the felt will need to be trimmed very close to the stitching.

Step 11:
Return the hoop to the machine and sew the satin border around the design (#6 in the Color Sequence Chart).

Remove the hoop from the machine and the design from the hoop. Cut away the stabilizer, leaving about ¼ inch.
Step 13:
Remove the remaining stabilizer with a wet paper towel or cloth.
