Materials
  • (1) 8” x 4” ceramic tile ( Purchase from any Flooring store, Home Depot, Lowes,etc )
  • Large remnant pieces of adhesive back permanent vinyl ( 2 colors : green/black matte)
  • Transfer tape
  • Weeding tools
  • Mod podge
  • Sponge applicator
  • Clear matte spray
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Cutting machine ( Cricut, Silhouette )

    Final Product: What You Will Create


    Step 1:

    Gather all supplies and review instructions before beginning. Basic knowledge of a cutting machine and how to cut two colors of vinyl and weed to create a decal for application is needed. Clean tile using rubbing alcohol.

    Step 2:

    Bring SVG design files into your cutting machine’s design board. Cut.

    Step 3:

    Resize design to fit into the application area of your tile. This design was resized to a 3.8” x 6.9”. Cut the wording Fresh Margaritas SVG design using the black vinyl and the margarita glass/ limes from your green vinyl. Once your vinyl is cut weed for decals. ( If needed refer to your cutting machine’s instruction manual for the cutting of multiple colors of vinyl.)

    Step 4:

    Apply transfer tape on both decals. Remove adhesive back from the margarita glass/lime decal as this decal will be applied to the tile first.

    Step 5:

    Center and apply to tile. Remove transfer tape.

    Step 6:

    Remove adhesive back from the word decal ( Fresh margaritas) Center by layering over top of the first decal applied. Refer to SVG design to help with placement layering. Slowly remove the transfer tape.

    Step 7:

    Apply a layer of mod podge over decal using the sponge applicator. Cover the entire top of the tile to seal. Allow to completely dry.

    Step 8:

    Lightly spray with clear matte finishing spray as this will help seal and protect the vinyl as well as the tile from moisture. And you are done! Happy Cinco De Mayo
