Final Product: What You Will Create

    Step 1:

Read all directions before beginning the project. Gather the materials for the project. Prepare the fabric. Lightly starch & iron the fabric.

design template is a printout of the design from an embroidery software program. The template is the actual size of the design which makes a great visual tool. The vertical and horizontal axis on the template provides perfect placement of the embroidery designs. Embrilliance 'Essentials' embroidery software program was used to make the design template. Print a design template for each design.

    Step 2:

Follow package directions to bond one piece of SF101 to the back side of one of the 6"x44" sash fabric.

    Step 3:

Put the two 6"x44" sash fabrics with wrong sides together.  Measure 3" from the bottom edge on each end of the sash.  Mark with a fabric pen.

    Step 4:

Repeat step 3 for the other end of the sash.

    Step 5:

Place a ruler on the 3" mark and the opposite corner of the sash.  Cut from the 3" mark to the corner.

    Step 6:

Place the piece of sashing fabric with the SF101 on a flat surface.  Use the design templates as placement guides on the ends of the sash.  The designs need to match on each end of the sash.  Pin the designs in place.

    Step 7:

The center of the design needs to be 6" from the tip end of the sash.

    Step 8:

Both designs need to be placed 6" from the tip end to the center of the design.

    Step 9:

Follow package directions to bond a 5"x7" piece of Hot Fix adhesive to the 5"x7" yellow fabric.

    Step 10:

Hoop one piece of cut away stabilizer. Float the sashing fabric end where you are putting the cross on the stabilizer. Use a light mist of 505 Temporary spray to hold the fabric in place on the stabilizer.  Use pins or wonder pins to secure the fabric onto the stabilizer.

    Step 11:

Load the appliqued cross design onto the machine. Attach the embroidery hoop. Check the needle size.  Check the bobbin area for debris.  The cross is appliqued.  Applique Embroidery decoratively stitches one fabric on top of another. Applique embroidery designs include a placement stitch, a tack down stitch, and a finishing stitch for each piece of fabric. These stitches are usually in different colors on the color chart so that the machine will stop after each step.  Color 1 is the placement stitch for the cross.  Stitch Color 1.

    Step 12:

Place the 5"x7" fabric over the placement stitches.

    Step 13:

Color 2 is the tack down stitches.  Stitch Color 2.

    Step 14:

Remove the hoop from the machine.  DO NOT remove the project from the hoop.  Use applique scissors to carefully trim the excess fabric from around the stitches.  Re-attach the hoop to the machine.

    Step 15:

Color 3 is the finishing stitches for the cross.  Stitch Color 3.

    Step 16:

After the design has completed stitching, remove the project from the hoop.  Carefully trim excess stabilizer from around the design.  Trim any long threads if needed.

    Step 17:

Hoop one piece of cut away stabilizer. Float the sashing fabric end where you are putting the 'He is Risen' design on the stabilizer. Use a light mist of 505 Temporary spray to hold the fabric in place on the stabilizer.  Use pins or wonder pins to secure the fabric onto the stabilizer.

    Step 18:

Load the 'He is Risen' design on the machine.  Attach the hoop.  Follow the color chart to embroider the design.

    Step 19:

After the design has completed stitching, remove the project from the hoop.  Carefully trim excess stabilizer from around the design.  Trim any long threads if needed.

    Step 20:

Pin the two sashing fabrics together.  Sew 1/4" seam around the edges leaving a 3" opening for turning the sash.

    Step 21:

Clip the corners off of the edges of the sash to remove bulk from the corners.

    Step 22:

Turn the sash right side out.  Pin the opening in the side closed.  Press along the seams with an iron.  Topstitch around the edges of the sash.

    Step 23:

Congrats!  You have completed an Easter Wreath Sash.

    Step 24:

Add the sash to your wreath.  One simple tie was used on the sample.  Great job!
