Final Product: What You Will Create

    Preface:
Please read the Tips while making this project. Embroidering on a purchased article makes the work go quickly, but there are a few items to watch for. Such as:
Stabilizer Tip: I used fibrous water-soluble stabilizer as I was going to wash this to remove the stabilizer after stitching. Luckily just before I was going to throw it in the wash, I picked up the tag that came with it and it said, “Spot clean only.” You may choose to use a tear away stabilizer, though picking it out of the back of the design may make it a little longer to complete. Or know that you will just leave the stabilizer on the back. Or look for a different table runner that is washable.

    Step 1:
Fold the table runner in half and mark about 12” of dashes along the center fold at each end. Tip: Make you marks with something other than a Frixion pen, such as chalk, as the Frixion pen leaves a faint dye reaction after it is removed with an iron.

    Step 2:

Print out a copy of the design and determine how high you want the bells to be on the table runner. Mark the table runner at the horizontal crossbars to use when hooping the table runner. Tip: Measure from the bottom of the table runner to the center of the design so you will be able to duplicate the placement of the design on the other end.

    Step 3:
As this is a large design made of running stitches it is important to stabilize it tautly in the hoop, aligning your horizontal and vertical placement lines with the marks on your hoop. Us the stabilizer of your choice after reading the Stabilizer Tip in the preface. Tip: Adding a straight pin pushed through the fabric and stabilizer right up to all four sides of your hoop will prevent the slippage of the stabilizer and fabric.

    Step 4:

Align the needle over the marked center of your design.

    Step 5:

Run the single-color design. Then repeat on the other end of the table runner.

    Step 6:

Trim or tear away the stabilizer depending on the type of stabilizer you used. Remove the pen or chalk lines following the manufacturer’s directions.

    Step 7:
Congratulations your Quick Christmas Bells Table Runner is complete!
