A quick sewing and embroidery Halloween Inspired Tea Towel project tutorial so to decorate your kitchen in the Halloween spirit. Stitching a Halloween themed/ color coordinated fabric bias tape embellishment below the embroidered design will definitely add the finishing festive touch to each tea towel. The time stated for completion of this project includes the making of the bias tape for both towels.
** If you're making your bias tape you will need Halloween color/ themed cotton fabric remnants to be able to cut 2" strips.
Step 1:
Gather all supplies and review instructions before beginning.

Step 2:
Making bias tape (optional) Cut 2” strips from your cotton fabric. Feed your strip though the bias tape maker. As it comes out the other end folded, iron press it down as you pull it through. Also refer to manufacturer’s instructions on the bias maker tool for any additional instructions. Kitchen tea towels used in this tutorial are approx 30” x 30” for which required almost 2 yrds of bias tape. If using a different size towel, adjust the amount of yardage accordingly to your towel size

Step 3:
Resize both embroidery designs using your embroidery software program and print paper templates for
review. (1)Something Wicked 5”x 5” Beware Halloween 5” x 3.5”. The Artistic Suite embroidery
software program was used in this tutorial. Refer to your embroidery program for instructions on resizing. Options: Most embroidery machines have the capability to resize if an embroidery software program is not used. Refer to your machines’ instruction.

Step 4:
Iron press towels. Place your bias tape 1.5” up from bottom hemmed edge. Extending the ends on each side of the towel. Pin in place. Stitch in place by top stitching both sides of folded bias tape edges.

Step 5:
Fold under the end pieces to the back and top stitch in place. Iron press.

Step 6:
Fold towel in half horizontally to make a center crease. Iron or fingertippress. Center your Something Wicked embroidery design paper template approx 3.5”up from top edge of bias tape to center of design. Mark axis points.

Step 7:
Load your Something Wicked design into your machine. Cut and hoop a piece of stabilizer. Mark axis points directly onto stabilizer. Spray temporary adhesive spray onto stabilizer. Center and position towel matching up axis points. Fingertip press down onto stabilizer to secure

Step 8:
Attach hoop to machine. Confirm center needle placement. Review design thread color chart. Begin the embroidering process. Embroidering process complete. Remove hoop. Cut and trim all jump stitches and loose thread ends front and back. Trim stabilizer from back of towel approx ½” from embroidered design.

Step 9:
Your “Something Wicked” design towel is finished! Congratulations! Repeat steps 4 through 9 for the “Beware Halloween” design to complete the set.
