Description

Bring a fresh look into your laundry room with this attractive Framed Laundry Sign.

Materials
  • 8” X 10” OPENING PICTURE FRAME
  • VINYL WITH ADHESIVE BACK 12" x 12" ( SAME COLOR BOTH SIDES) BLACK OR COLOR OF CHOICE
  • TRANSFER TAPE
  • WEEDING TOOLS
  • GLASS CLEANER
  • CUTTING MACHINE ( I.E SILHOUETTE CAMEO, CRICUT)
  • BACKGROUND PAPER/CARDSTOCK Min 8" x 10" (OPT)

    Final Product: What You Will Create

    Preface:
    This is a must project for those with the basic knowledge of a cutting machine and how to prepare vinyl for a decal. Simple step by step tutorial to create a custom laundry sign to add a bit character to your laundry room. 


    Step 1:
    Gather all supplies and review instructions before beginning.
    *Basic knowledge of a cutting machine and how to prepare vinyl for a decal is required.

    Step 2:
    Remove glass from picture frame and clean the front and back using your glass cleaner. Set aside.

    Step 3:
    Upload into your cutting machine’s program the Laundry Wash Fold Dry SVG design. Resize design to a 9” x 5” size. Mirror image the design as this decal will be applied to the backside of the glass. Refer to your cutting machine’s instructions re: mirror image.

    Step 4:
    Prepare vinyl for cutting. Check your cutting setting, etc. Insert into your cutting machine. Cut.

    Step 5:
    Cutting complete. Remove from cutting machine. Weed vinyl for a decal.
    * Weeding: the process of removing the excess vinyl from the lettering or design that has been cut.

    Step 6:
    Apply transfer tape.

    Step 7:
    Slowly and carefully remove adhesive backing from vinyl ensuring cut design stays adhered to transfer tape.

    Step 8:
    Applying to Frame Glass
    Find center of glass and center position decal atop glass horizontally. Your center will be 5” in from both sides and 4” up/down if using a 8” x 10 “glass frame. When you have the decal positioned to your liking, fingertip press firmly and smooth out. Smooth out any and all bubbles. Tip: To help with centering of decal I found it helpful to mark axis points top /bottom right onto transfer tape.

    Step 9:
    Slowly remove transfer tape ensuring design decal stays adhered to glass frame.

    Step 10:
    Background paper/cardstock (opt) Position glass atop background paper. Trace around outside edge of glass. Remove glass. Cut out piece. Skip this step if you are not adding background paper.

    Step 11:
    Insert glass back into frame ( smooth side down).    Insert background paper. Insert frame backing. And Woohoo your Framed Laundry Sign is complete! Great job!
