  • STORE PURCHASED EYEGLASS CASE HOLDER WITH ZIPPER (EYEGLASS CASES USED IN THIS TUTORIAL WERE PURCHASED AT A DOLLAR STORE)
  • EMBROIDERY THREAD ( YOUR CHOICE OF COLORS OR FOLLOW DESIGN THREAD CHART)
  • TEAR AWAY STABILIZER
  • AIR ERASE FABRIC OR CHALK PEN
  • TEMPORARY ADHESIVE SPRAY

    Final Product: What You Will Create
    Preface:
    A simple and easy to follow tutorial that will showcase a beginner’s embroidering talent. Using a store bought eyeglass case holder with a zipper closure that zips/unzips from one end to the other makes for an easier hooping. Time stated of 1 hour is for the two designs in this tutorial.   

    Step 1:
    Gather all supplies and review instructions before beginning.

    Step 2:
    Print out paper template of embroidery designs.

    Step 3:
    The eyeglass case holders used in this tutorial were purchased at a dollar store and have a zipper closure that zips from one end to the other for easier hooping.

    Step 4:
    Center paper template of “Girls Trip Therapy” embroidery design atop eyeglass case holder. Mark axis points as shown in picture.

    Step 5:
    Cut and hoop tear away stabilizer. Mark top/bottom sides axis points directly onto stabilizer. Spray temporary adhesive spray.

    Step 6:
    Unzip eyeglass case. Flatten and center case directly onto hooped/sprayed stabilizer matching up axis points.  Fingertip press to secure.

    Step 7:
    Load embroidery design into machine. Based on my embroidery machine, this design using a 600 spm
    (stitch per minute) will take approx 12 minutes to stitch out. Increase your speed and it will decrease your time. Refer to your machine’s instruction manual.

    Step 8:
    Attach hoop. Confirm center needle placement. Begin embroidering process. When embroidering is complete. Remove hoop. Cut and trim all jump stitches and loose thread ends front and back. Carefully remove stabilizer.

    Step 9:
    You did it! Your embroidered eyeglass case holder is finished. Simple and pretty easy right!? Let’s get ready for the next one and just repeat steps 4 through 6.  I added a few crystals to the next one to give it some added “sparkle”.
