A rustic burlap looking placemat with fringed edges adorned with a “Thankful” embroidery design that you create will make a great addition to any Fall table décor.
A quick and simple project using the Honey Script Font to create personalized burlap placemats to reflect expressions of gratitude. The font used is not a keyboard font as you will need to bring in each individual letter to create a word.
Step 1:
Gather all supplies and review instructions before beginning.

Step 2:
Create the word “Thankful” using your embroidery software by bringing in each letter into your software program. ( per your software instructions. Size word design to approx. 7.6” x 3.7”. *THE HONEY SCRIPT FONT IS NOT A KEYBOARD FONT AS YOU WILL NEED TO BRING IN EACH INDIVIDUAL LETTER TO CREATE THE WORD.

Step 3:
Print out template

Step 4:
Center and place template bottom right hand corner of placemat. Approx 1” in from side and 1” up from bottom.

Step 5:
Mark side, top and bottom axis lines and center using your favorite marking method.

Step 6:
Cut a piece tear away stabilizer larger than your hoop. Hoop stabilizer and mark sides , top and bottom axis lines. Mark center with cross hair.

Step 7:
Lightly spray temporary adhesive on the back of your placemat within the marked area.

Center placemat and place on hooped stabilizer by matching up axis lines on your hoop and marked stabilizer. Fingertip press down to secure.
Step 9:
Load your word design into your machine.

Attach hoop and confirm center needle placement. ( Remove adhesive marking dots if used.)

Cut a piece of water soluble stabilizer to fit over word design area. Lightly spray temporary adhesive spray (505)on one side of stabilizer and place on top. Fingertip press down to secure.
Step 12:
Begin the embroidering process. Embroidering complete. Remove hoop. Cut and trim all jump stitches and loose thread ends. Remove soluble stabilizer. And remove back tear away stabilizer.

Step 13:
Your Thankful placemat is complete! Make additional placemats to make a set using other words to express gratitude.
