Final Product: What You Will Create

Preface:

Blank koozies worked well when making the 'Freezer Pop Holders'. I had difficulty finding neoprene material, and the koozies were very accessible. Plus, you could make two holders with one koozie with very little excess fabric.

Needle size is very important when stitching this project.

Step 1:

Mini fruit designs were used on the 'Freezer Pop Holders'. The example has two fruit designs on the holder. An embroidery software program (Embrilliance Essentials) was used to make a template with the design. You can easily just use one design on the 'Freezer Pop Holder'.

Make the template for the 'Freezer Pop Holder'.

Step 2:

Gather the materials needed for the project. Read the directions BEFORE you begin the project.

Step 3:

Cut the center piece off of the koozie.

Step 4:

You will have two koozie squares when you finish.

Step 5:

Fold one of the squares in half with wrong sides together. Use wonder clips to hold the edges together.

Step 6:

Use the paper template to determine design placement on the 'Freezer Pop Holder'.

Step 7:

Hoop one piece of cut-away stabilizer. Match the center and axis points on the koozie square and stabilizer. Lightly mist the back of the koozie square with temporary adhesive spray to secure it to the stabilizer.

Step 8:

NOTE: I placed a piece of water soluble topping over the koozie square before I began stitching the design. After stitching a holder with topping and one without topping, I feel that the water soluble topping for this project is optional.

Use water soluble topping if you prefer. Load the embroidery design. Stitch the design.

Step 9:

If you chose to use the water soluble topping, the honey comb tip of a seam fix works great to remove the topping.

Remove the water soluble topping.

Step 10:

Trim the cut-away stabilizer to about 1/4" from the stitching.

Step 11:

Fold the holder in half. Use wonder clips to hold it together.

Stitch a seam along two sides as indicated in the picture.

Step 12:

You have finished a 'Freezer Pop Holder'.

Step 13:

Congrats!
