  • COTTON FABRIC SCRAPS ( CUT TWO @ 12” X 6” FOR EACH ENVELOPE)
  • TEAR AWAY STABILIZER
  • TEMPORARY ADHESIVE SPRAY ( 505)
  • EMBROIDERY THREAD
  • SNAPS
  • BUTTONS
  • SNAP GROMMET TOOL
  • GLUE GUN AND GLUE STICK
  • CHALK /FABRIC ERASE PEN
  • OPT. CHARM(S) FOR EMBELLISHMENT
  • SIZE MEDIUM VALENTINES FONT

    Preface:
    This is a quick Valentine fabric envelope tutorial. Stitches up so quickly. Using the Valentine Hearts Font to personalize and adding embellishments will definitely make your Valentine feel special.  

    Step 1:
    Gather all materials and review instructions before beginning. Print out a template of a chosen letter from Valentine Hearts Font designs

    Step 2:
    Cut two coordinated fabrics 12” x 6”.

    Step 3:
    Center your fabric and cut a triangle to form envelope flap. Measure down from top 3 ½” and mark using your chalk or fabric erase pen. Then cut at an angle. as shown in the picture, both corners.

    Step 4:
    You should now have these two pieces that look like this.

    Using your letter design template. Place on outside fabric flap and center mark.  

    Step 6:
    Hoop stabilizer and center mark with a cross hair. Spray lightly with temporary adhesive spray.

    Step 7:
    I found this to be an easy way to “center” onto stabilizer by folding your “envelope” in half lengthwise. Fold point down 2 ½’ . Fingertip press and place folded corner on top of stabilizer bottom left of the crosshair. Unfold. Fingertip press to secure.

    Step 8:
    Load your letter design into your machine. I used the medium size of this font. Edit your design 180*(degrees) per your machine’s instructions. ( upside down) As you want the design to be right side up on the flap of your envelope.

    Step 9:
    Attach the hoop to your machine. If needed make any adjustments for centering of your design. Begin the embroidering process.

    Step 10:
    Embroidering complete. Remove hoop from the machine. Cut and trim all jump stitches and loose thread ends. Remove stabilizer.

    Step 11:
    Using both fabric pieces. Place right sides together. Pin. Sew both pieces using ¼”seam allowance from outside edges. Leave an opening on one side approx. 1”. Clip corners.

    Step 12:
    Turn right side out and press.

    Step 13:
    Bring bottom up 4”. Pin in place. Edge stitch both sides. ( using a scant 1/8” seam allowance) This is will also close the opening.

    Step 14:
    Attach snap per manufacturer’s instructions.  Add button onto the top of snap ( ring).  With your glue gun, a drop of glue is enough to secure.  Add any additional embellishments of your choice.

     Easy right!? Voila! Your fabric envelope is now complete.
