Home State Pillow Embroidery Project

Using a state design of your choice, a block font, and a blank pillow, it's simple to make this sentimental pillow for your own home, or as a gift for someone.

    Preface:
    Using a state design of your choice, a block font, and a blank pillow, it's simple to make this sentimental pillow for your own home, or as a gift for someone.

    Step 1:
    Gather your supplies.

    Step 2:
    We used our embroidery software to combine our letters and state into one file, but if you don’t have software to do this, you can just as easily do each element individually.

    Step 3:
    Remove the pillow insert and mark the center of your pillow.

    Step 4:
    Insert cut away stabilizer and the lower part of the hoop into the open pillow case.

    Step 5:
    Hoop and load into your machine – make sure that the back of the pillow clears your bobbin. You don’t want to stitch through both sides of the pillow.

    Step 6:
    Stitch away!

    Step 7:
    Put the pillow insert back and voila! A memento to display in your home or gift to someone for theirs!
