Final Product: What You Will Create

    Preface:
Embroidering a cap without a hat hoop can be quite difficult so you might want to watch this
whole design stitch out so you can check it as it goes. I have also slowed my machine down to 400SPM.

    Step 1:
Gather the materials and read through the instructions before beginning. Have a copy of the color sequence on hand for reference and hoop the cutaway stabilizer.

    Step 2:
Mark on your cap the design position and pin the inner band down to the brim so it is out of the way.

    Step 3:
Now flatten the brim of the hat as best as possible and undo the back strap. Flatten down the design area and pin it to the stabilizer, try to centre the cap as best as possible. Attach the hoop to the machine and check if it is centered, if it isn’t exactly centered, it is easier to re-align your needle position rather than rehoop the cap. If you have the option on your machine, you want to use the tack down stitch to hold the cap in place.

    Step 4:
Stitch out the 4 color design. Remove the hoop from the machine, undo the tack down stitch and cut away the stabilizer. Reshape your cap.

    Step 5:
Play ball! Well done on completing this cap, without a hat hoop!
