Final Product: What You Will Create

Preface:

Treat a sports fan you know to a great gift—whether they be a little kid or a big kid. This cooler holds six cans of beverages and there is enough room for a sandwich and snacks.

Step 1:

Gather the materials and read through the instructions before beginning. Print out a paper template of the design. The bag featured in this project is from Discount Embroidery Blanks.

Step 2:

For this particular bag there were two options for embroidery: the top or the front. I opted for the front.

Step 3:

Unzip the area for embroidery, fold it in half to find the center and mark the center with chalk.

Step 4:

Measure the height of the area, divide in half, and mark the center. To aid in aligning the piece squarely in the hoop, hoop a piece of tearaway stabilizer. Place the hoop on a grided board and place the vertical center on a girded line. Tear small pieces of embroidery tape and place at the top and sides on the back of the cooler area to be embroidered; remove the remaining protective paper from each piece. Be sure this tape is well out of the way of the stitching area—this tape is not stitch friendly.

Step 5:

Align the center line marked on the cooler front panel to the center line on the stabilizer; press down on the tape to secure the cooler piece to the stabilizer. Load the design on the machine and then place the hoop on the machine and align the needle to the center mark on the cooler. Do a check to be sure the design will stitch within the area. Stitch the design following the color sequence.

Step 6:

After the design has finished stitching, remove the project from the stabilizer and then remove the tape—just roll the tape along itself and it curls up and is easily removed. Steam (do not touch the iron to the cooler surface) away the chalk marks.

Step 7:

Congratulations on completing a wonderful little sport cooler! This makes a great gift for a child or adult sports enthusiast.
