ITH Princess Door Hanger Embroidery Project

Description

This charming in-the-hoop door hanger is perfect for ensuring the princess in your life can nap without disturbances. The whimsical design features a playful message to gently ward off any potential interruptions. Step-by-step instructions are included.

Materials
  • 1 8x10” square of white cotton duck or other stiff fabric
  • 1 5x7” white flannel
  • Wonder Under or other similar product for applique
  • Embroidery thread
  • Craft iron or other small iron
  • Applique scissors
  • Pinking shears (optional)

    Preface:
    Your little princess will slumber in peace when you use this “Don’t Wake the Princess” door hanger during nap time.

    Step 1:
    Gather the materials and read through the instructions before beginning. Print out a paper template of the design and color sequence.

    Step 2:
    Hoop the cotton base fabric with the cutaway stabilizer.

    Step 3:
    Following manufacturer’s directions, iron the Wonder Under to the back of the flannel fabric. When it is cool, remove the paper backing.

    Step 4:
    Stitch out the design following the stitch sequence and placing flannel fabric after first placement stitch.
     
    Once flannel is secured with tack-down stitch, carefully trim close to the tack-down stitching line using the applique scissors.

    Step 5:
    Using the craft iron, press the flannel to the base fabric. DO NOT UN-HOOP THE PROJECT.

    Step 6:
    7. Continue stitching the project, following the color sequence.

    Step 7:
    When completed, remove the project from the hoop and carefully trim close to the stitching with the pinking shears, being careful not to clip the stitching.

    You are done! You have finished this adorable in-the-hoop, applique door hanger that is sure to help any princess enjoy an uninterrupted nap!
