Final Product: What You Will Create

    Preface:
The design comes in three sizes and the largest size was used to do this project, but edited to be slightly smaller so it would fit in the hoop I had for my machine. The robe is stitched and then the gift set assembled in a tissue lined wooden tray.

    Step 1:
Gather the materials and read through the instructions before beginning. For the robe, the largest size of the design was chosen but you may need to use software to edit the size to make sure it fits within the hoop you have for your machine. Print out a paper template of the design. The wooden tray was purchased at Michael’s and the spa set chosen at the local gift store.

    Step 2:
The gift set and tray were chosen at the same time to make sure the bath gift set would fit in the tray. The gift set was also chosen so it would coordinate with the color of the robe. Open the robe and prepare to press it.

    Step 3:
Assemble the pages for the template by aligning the marks and taping the pages together. Be sure the design will fit within the hoop. Load the design on the machine and rotate it if necessary.

    Step 4:
Next is to find the center back of the robe to align the paper template. Pin together the side seams and should seams. Smooth the fabric so the center back folds nicely. Very lightly press in a crease with an iron at the center back fold. Use a slightly warm iron for the silky fabric. Remove the pins from the seams.

    Step 5:
Place the paper template as desired along the center back. For this robe the center of the design was placed 6” from the lower edge of the robe collar. Hoop the fabric with the stabilizer and place the hoop on the machine. Align the needle to the center of the template. Be absolutely sure that none of the fabric is underneath the hoop and that none of the fabric will be caught under the arm of the embroidery machine as the project stitches.

    Step 6:
Remove the paper template and stitch the design.

    Step 7:
After the design has stitched, remove the fabric from the hoop and trim away the excess stabilizer. Press the robe well.

    Step 8:
Here is the completed robe stitched.

    Step 9:
For the gift presentation, fold the robe so it will fit in the tray, exposing the embroidery. Line the wooden box with tissue paper, place the gift set in the tray and then place the robe in the tray. Tie the set with a pretty bow of satin ribbon.
