Chic Market Tote Bag Embroidery Project

  • Purchased Tote Bag (Tote bag in this project is vinyl)
  • Tear Away Stabilizer
  • Temporary Spray Adhesive
  • Embroidery Thread (You will need 4 colors of your choice)
  • Tape

  • Designs used in this project

    Preface:
    A Farmers Market Tote Bag with a trendy and stylish embroidery design.  


    Step 1:
    Gather the materials and read through the instructions before beginning.

    Step 2:
    Hoop tear away stabilizer.

    Step 3:
    Spray temporary adhesive spray onto stabilizer.   ( This will help in securing the bag to the hoop in the next step)

    Step 4:
    Mark the center of your tote bag using your favorite method.  Turn the bag inside out and center onto your hoop. Press down onto stabilizer to secure in place.   Use tape to help secure bag to hoop and to hold bag excess as to avoid getting caught when embroidering design.  The bag I used is approx. 16" x 14"...  I rolled up the bag bottom excess and taped to secure.

    Step 5:
    Attach hoop with bag to your machine.

    Step 6:
    Center your design per your machine instruction and begin embroidering design.  This design will take approximately 47 minutes.  Stitch out times will vary based on your machine.

    Step 7:
    Once design is completely stitched out.. clean jump stitches and excess thread.

    Step 8:
    Remove tearaway stabilizer.  Turn bag right side out.  Viola!  You are now ready to do some market shopping!
