Chic Houndstooth Apron with Red Accents Embroidery Project

  • Purchased apron
  • Tearaway stabilizer
  • Embroidery thread as stated in color sequence
  • Temporary spray adhesive
  • Painters tape

    Preface:
    In just a few simple steps, a fun apron can be created in almost no time at all.

    Step 1:
    Gather the materials and read through the instructions before beginning. Print out a paper template of the design and color sequence. Use embroidery threads that will coordinate with the colors on the purchased apron.

    Step 2:
    Press the apron well, Be sure to press any detail such as ruffles, bows, and ties. Fold the bib of the apron in half lengthwise and crosswise and lightly finger press to crease.

    Step 3:
    The intersection of the fold lines is the center for the design placement. Cut out the design template and pin it matching the crosshairs on the template to the crease marks on the apron. Hoop the stabilizer and spray the back of the apron bib with temporary spray adhesive. Center the bib in the hoop and apply painters tape to additionally secure the fabric; be sure the tape will not be in the stitching area.

    Step 4:
    Load the design and thread on the machine. Center the needle over the center of the template. Load the design and thread on the machine. Center the needle over the center of the template. Remove the paper template and stitch the design following the color sequence. After the design has stitched, remove the fabric from the hoop and carefully remove the excess stabilizer.

    Step 5:
    Press the apron again and it is ready for use or to gift.
