Final Product: What You Will Create

    Preface:
An embroidery design with added ruffle trim completes a cute outfit for a little girl for St. Patrick’s Day.

    Step 1:
Gather the materials and read through the instructions before beginning. Print out a paper template of the design and color sequence.

    Step 2:
Press the clothing well; set the pants aside. Fold the top in half lengthwise and lightly press in a crease. Cut out and place the paper template of the embroidery design into position as desired on the shirt, aligning the vertical crosshair of the template to the pressed line. Hoop the shirt with one layer of poly mesh stabilizer. Load the “Leprechaun in training” design on the machine. Place the hoop on the machine, aligning the needle to the center of the template.

    Step 3:
Double check to make sure there is no fabric that will get caught under the hoop. Remove the paper template and place down a piece of water soluble stabilizer. Stitch the design following the color sequence.

    Step 4:
Remove the fabric from the hoop and remove the excess stabilizers. Measure the amount needed and pin the riffled trim from the shoulder to hem like “straps” on the shirt front. Use matching thread and stitch the trim to the shirt.
