Create an embroidered pin cushion mason jar to store your sewing pins, buttons, and other sewing notions. You can also put other items in your jar like candy or batteries for example. They make great gifts for family and friends.
Remove the tear away backing and round out the edges of the fabric.
Step 4:
Take the needle and thread and make a loose running stitch around the inside edge of the fabric. Leave the thread loose at each end.
Step 5:
Gather the thread by pulling it up slightly.
Step 6:
Using the top of the mason jar lid, felt fabric and a marker trace around the mason jar lid.
Step 7:
Cut out the circle.
Step 8:
Stuff some batting into the fabric until it is nice and full.
Step 9:
Place the mason jar lid on top of the batting.
Step 10:
Pull the threads tight. Add more batting if it is not thick enough. If it is just right hot glue the fabric to the bottom of the lid. Trim the thread trails and any excess fabric.
Step 11:
Glue the center of the felt piece to the bottom of the pin cushion.
Step 12:
Place the top part of the lid on the pin cushion.

Fill the inside of the jar with sewing items like: embroidery thread, needles, pins, mini scissors, thimbles, strings, measuring tape, etc… You can also put buttons, candy, pins, or any small objects that you would like in your new pin cushion mason jars!
