FSL Sun Catcher Embroidery Project

Description

These designs are free standing lace and when they are completed you can hang them in your window. The sun shines through the bright colors of the thread and are a delight to see. They will make great gifts for family and friends.

  • Free Standing Lace Sun Catcher Design(s)
  • Ultra Solvy - Water Soluble Stabilizer
  • Thread & Bobbin Thread (same color)
  • Sharp 11 Needle
  • Paper Towels
  • Bowl
  • Water

    Final Product: What You Will Create

    Step 1:
    Cut a piece of Solvy that is a little larger than your hoop.

    Step 2:
    Hoop Solvy, making sure that it is hooped very tightly.

    Step 3:
    Place hoop onto your machine and embroider the lace design of your choice.

    Step 4:
    Once the design is done embroidering - remove the design from the machine and gently remove the excess Solvy from around the outside of the design.

    Step 5:
    Then add hot/warm water to your container. The water should be high enough in the bowl so that the entire lace sun catcher will be submerged.

    Step 6:
    Place your lace design inside the container. Let the design soak for about 10-15 minutes. This will remove the Solvy from the design.

    Step 7:
    Remove the design from the water and blot dry with the paper towel. Let it dry.

    Step 8:
    Iron the lace sun catcher if desired, making sure to place a thin cloth over the lace so it does not get scorched by the iron. Now your lace sun catcher is completed and ready to hang your window.
