The FSL Bloom Doily is the perfect design to create a topper for a glass bulb ornament. The design is stitched on water soluble stabilizer, the stabilizer rinsed out, and the Doily placed on top of the bulb. Satin ribbon provides a hanger to place the ornament on the tree.
Step 1:
Gather the supplies and read through all the instructions. Print a template of the design. Note: the colors for the project were changed to reds and pink instead of the greens listed in the design.

Step 2:
Hoop two layers of water soluble stabilizer. Load the design “FSL Bloom Doily” on the machine. Stitch following the color sequence.

Step 4:
Cut the excess stabilizer from around the design. Rinse the remaining stabilizer from the design following the manufacturer’s directions.

Step 5:
Blot out most of the moisture, but leave the ornament damp so it can mold to the shape of the ornament.

Step 6:
Remove the cap from the ornament.

Step 7:
Place seam sealant around and just beyond the inner ring of the stitched design and let dry. This will keep all the stitches in place. The center of the design is probably too small to slide over the ornament, so after the sealant dries, very carefully trim off the inner most satin stitched ring from the design.

Step 8:
The doily should now slide over the opening of the ornament.

Step 9:
Place the cap back on the ornament, tucking the top of the embroidery under the cap.

Step 10:
Hold the FSL Bloom Doily around the ornament forming it to the bulb as it dries (or use a rubber band to hold it in place to dry).

Step 11:
Slip the ribbon through the top of the cap and form a knot at the end of the ribbon to create a hanger for the ornament.

Step 12:
Hang the ornament on the tree and enjoy the beautiful FSL Bloom Doily ornament. Make several to don your tree or to give as gifts this holiday season.
