Shamrock Pencil Toppers by Chris Katic Choose felt or fun felt in a color you like. White with green thread or green with gold felt works great. Hoop the felt stabilizer isnt necessary if the felt is tightly woven. Use the same color throughout the color breaks even though another color or applique is indicated. Stitch out the first three color breaks. STOP. Clip all the thread jumps and carefully remove the hoop from the embroidery arm. Be very careful not to bump the embroidery arm. Clip the bobbin thread. Replace the hoop with another piece of felt underneath it. Continue sewing out the last color break. Cut out the two toppers and insert a pencil, candy stick, or pretzel whatever you choose. Enjoy these toppers at you St. Patricks Day celebration. They make great party favors for children and especially Nursing Home patients.
