  • Bib Design (Choose from CHG366 to CHG429 and corresponding text drops.)
  • Hand towel and 5 inches of T-shirt ribbing
  • E-zee wash-away backing & topping
  • Embroidery thread in colors of choice
  • Matching bobbin thread
  • Embroidery machine
  • Sewing machine
  • Cutting mat, rotary cutter, scissors, iron

    Final Product: What You Will Create
     


    Step 1:
    To make a pattern to cut the hole from the hand towel, use a protractor to trace a six inch diameter circle. Cut out the circle.

    Step 2:
    Place the pattern directly in the center of the hand towel and pin in place.

    Step 3:
    Cut around the circle and remove.

    Step 4:
    Cut a piece of knit ribbing to a size of 5” by 13”, with the stretch being on the long side.

    Step 5:
    Fold ribbing in half, right sides together. Stitch a half inch seam on the short side.

    Step 6:
    Fold the ribbing in half, wrong sides together. Mark each quarter with a pin.

    Step 7:
    Pin the ribbing to the hand towel on the right side of the towel. Stretch the ribbing to fit the hole. Stitch together with a narrow seam, stretching the ribbing as you go around.

    Step 8:
    Use a zig-zag or other seam finishing stitch to finish the edges of the seam, preventing raveling in the many washes this article will get! A serger also works well.

    Step 9:
    Turn the finished bib right side out.

    Step 10:
    Hoop the bib with both topping and backing.

    Step 11:
    Embroider your selected design.

    Step 12:
    Remove the bib from the hoop, clip any unsightly threads and remove as much of the backing and topping as possible. Don’t worry if some remains. It will wash away in the first laundering!
