Halloween Blocks/Coasters Embroidery Project

Description

All of the designs for this set will follow the same instructions.

Materials
  • 4 pieces 1 1/2" x 4 1/2" strip of material
  • 5" square for top fabric
  • 5" square of batting
  • 5" square for bottom fabric

    Preface:
    These are 1 color designs, the color changes are just to make stops for the machine. You can use matching bobbin thread or color of choice. Only the last 2 color changes will be shown on the bottom of project.
     


    Step 1:
    Fabric stitch line remove hoop from machine, place material across stitch line over lapping 1/4" with fabric laying across the majority of the design.


    Step 2:
    Tack down stitch remove hoop from machine and fold it over the line towards the edge.


    Step 3:
    Decorative stitch, this stitch will make the piece look quilted.

    Decorative stitch, this stitch will make the piece look quilted. Repeat these instructions for all 4 fabric pieces.


    Step 5:
    The design area: outline stitch for back remove hoop from machine and turn over so you can now add materials to the underside of the hoop.


    Step 6:
    Tape a layer of batting and then top of that, tape a layer of material. Return hoop to machine carefully not to dislodge the taped material under it.

    Stitch tack down, outline blanket stitch. Remove hoop from machine, remove project and with pinking shears, cut around the design area leaving a 1/4" or so around the stitching.
