Use ultra solvy or another brand of heavy solvy. Thin solvy will tear and not embroider well.
We used transparent spool & bobbin thread to sew the pieces
together on the sewing machine. You could use the same color of thread
as you used to embroider the designswith, if you would like.
The first part of this project is to embroider all designs for your Easter egg(s). Images below are of a design from the Lace Friendship Bracelets, but the same instructions apply for the Easter egg designs also. Cut a piece of Ultra or other heavy solvy that is a little larger than your hoop.
Step 2:

Hoop solvy making sure that it is hooped very tightly.
Step 3:

Place hoop onto your machine and embroider the lace design of your choice.
Step 4:

Once the design is done embroidering remove from the machine and trim the excess solvy around the outside of the design.
Step 5:

Then add hot/warm water to your container. The water should be high
enough in the bowl so that the entire lace bracelet will be submerged.
Step 6:

Place your lace design inside the container. Let the
design soak for about 10-15 minutes. This will remove the solvy from
design.
Step 7:

Remove the design from the water and blot dry with the paper towel. Now
place the design on wax paper and spray each side literally with your
spray starch.
Step 8:

Place another piece of wax paper on top of the design.
To make sure the design dries flat add a heavy book(s) on top and leave
it there for 12 to 24 hours. See your spray starch instructions.

This stage of the project is to assemble the eggs. Before you start sewing the
pieces together, lay them as shown in the image. Lay each piece so the
top of the flower is facing center.
Make sure that the pieces with the square are opposite of each other.
Step 10:
Take the 2 pieces with the squares and sew them together as shown.
Make sure that one of the squares is on the end and one is in the middle. The flowers will be facing each other.
Step 11:
Sew each side piece to the middle square one at a time so that all 4 pieces are connected in the center.
Step 12:

Now for the tricky part, wrap the first two pieces with the square on the end around so they are touching and sew them together.
Make sure that the nice/top side of the flowers are facing in.
Step 13:

Fold the right flower side in and sew it to the right side of the square.
Step 14:

Now for the final and really tricky part, fold the left flower side in
to match up with the left side of the square and sew them together. You
are now done with sewing.
Fill your plastic eggs with Easter treats or small gifts and wrap them with your new Free Standing Lace Easter Egg covers.
