Final Product: What You Will Create

    Preface:

The time calculated for each bell is the stitching time.  Drying time will vary greatly depending on the temperature and humidity levels in your area.

    Step 1:

Tautly hoop two layers of fibrous water-soluble stabilizer in the embroidery hoop.

    Step 2:

Stitch the design in polyester thread.  These bells were designed for the use of 60 weight bobbin thread in the bobbin.

Cut away the excess stabilizer from around the bell.

    Step 4:

Hold it under running hot water just long enough to remove the stabilizer from the bell.  You want to leave enough stabilizer in the project to make it stiff when it dries. Loops, such as the top of these bells tend to collapse when the stabilizer is removed.  It helps to hold the loop between your fingers when rinsing that portion of the bell.

    Step 5:

Lay the bell on a folded smooth cotton dishtowel; reshape the top loop with your fingers; leave it to dry thoroughly.

    Step 6:

Cut 7” of 1/8” ribbon or package string. The FSL Christmas Bells can be hung from a pine branch, a Christmas tree, or from gift packages to add a special touch.  Enjoy using them in all the ways that you can imagine.
