    Step 8:
Remove the hoop from the machine, but do not remove the fabric. Turn the hoop over and center the back fabric over the back of the design. Return the hoop to the machine and stitch Color 6 to tack the back in place.

    Step 9:
Remove the hoop from the machine, but do not remove the fabric. Turn the hoop over and lay it flat on the cutting surface. Carefully cut around the back fabric, getting as close to the stitching as you can, and getting into the corner pieces of the Maltese. Turn the hoop to the front side, lay it flat on the cutting table, and trim around the white fabric, again, trimming close to the stitching and cutting out the corners.

    Step 10:
Place the hoop back on the machine. Stitch Color 7, the satin stitching. Stitch Color 8, the motif run.

    Step 11:
The coaster has finished stitching. Remove the piece from the hoop and trim away the excess stabilizer to within about ¼” of the stitching line. Put hot water in the bowl.

    Step 12:
Use the sponge to dissolve the remaining stabilizer. Lay the piece flat to dry.

    Step 13:
Once the coaster is dry, use a spray fabric protector as directed, to help keep the coasters clean.
