Preface:

'Fresh Produce Picked Daily' tote bag. Reusable canvas tote bags are an eco-friendly way to shop for fruits, vegetables, and more.

Step 1:

Gather & prepare the materials needed for the project. Read the directions before you begin the project. Iron and lightly starch the tote bag.

Step 2:

An essential tool for embroidery position and placement is a design template. A design template is a printout of the actual size of the design. It has the center of the design identified, as well as the horizontal and vertical axis lines. An embroidery program can print a template of any design. (Embrilliance Essentials embroidery software program was used to print the design template).
Print the design template.

Step 3:

Use the design template as a design placement tool. The design template makes design placement much easier and accurate. Place the design template on the tote. Measure from the grid lines on the design template. Once the design is centered, pin the template to the fabric.

Step 4:

The design is available in three sizes. The size of the design for this project is 5.7"x7.8" with a stitch count of 19,719.

Hoop one piece of medium weight (2.5) cut away stabilizer. Mark the center on the stabilizer. Turn the tote wrong side out. Then, match the center of the design template with the center point on the stabilizer. Match the horizontal and vertical points on the hoop and the design template.

Use a light mist of 505 Temporary Adhesive spray on the stabilizer. Gently press the fabric onto the stabilizer. Use wonder pins to secure the fabric on the stabilizer.

Step 5:

Load the design on the machine. A 75/11 size embroidery needle is suggested for this project. Attach the hoop to the machine. Pin or tape fabric to the sides so that the stitching field is clear.

Step 6:

Check the stitching field area to make sure there is nothing in the way. Stitch the design.

Step 7:

Once the design has completed stitching, remove the hoop from the machine. Remove the tote from the hoop. Trim excess stabilizer from around the design leaving about 1/2" margin.

Step 8:

'Farm Fresh Produce Picked Daily' stitched design.

Step 9:

Congrats! You have completed a produce bag. Great job!
