Description

This rustically embroidered burlap table runner will be a perfect compliment to your Christmas season decor to adorn your table as your family gathers.

Materials
  • BURLAP TABLE RUNNER 14” X 72” ( PURCHASED FROM AMAZON)
  • CUT AWAY STABILIZER
  • WATER SOLUBLE STABILIZER
  • TEMPORARY ADHESIVE SPRAY
  • EMBROIDERY THREAD ( 2 COLORS)
  • CHALK PEN OR ADHESIVE MARKING DOTS

    Final Product: What You Will Create

    Preface:
    Embroider a heartfelt Christmas sentiment design onto a purchased burlap table runner. A perfect and easy to follow tutorial for the beginner embroiderer with some machine embroidering experience. Floating a piece of water soluble stabilizer over the top of the fabric will help keep stitches from sinking into the burlap fabric during the embroidering process. This tutorial is just one out of three for completion of a rustic table place setting set. Keep an eye out for the rustic napkins and placemat tutorials to complete your set. Gather For Christmas design size 6.02" x 5.96


    Step 1:
    Gather all supplies and review instructions before beginning.

    Step 2:
    Find center of runner. Fold in half meeting ends of runner. Mark your center fold at top and bottom edge.

    Step 3:
    Center paper template using your center fold markings to help guide. Mark axis points at top, bottom and sides.

    Step 4:
    Load embroidery design into your machine.

    Step 5:
    Cut a piece of cutaway stabilizer to fit over embroidering area. Spray temporary adhesive spray and finger press to secure to back of runner. Hoop runner. Matching marked axis points to hoop markings. Float a piece of stabilizer over top. Covering the embroidery design area. Tape to secure in place.

    Step 6:
    Attach hoop to machine. Confirm center needle placement. Use rustic colored threads or follow embroidery design thread color chart.  Begin embroidering process. Embroidering complete. Detach hoop from machine. Cut/trim all jump stitches and loose thread ends. Remove soluble stabilizer. Trim cutaway stabilizer approx ½” from design .

    Step 7:
    Iron press and you are done! Great job! Keep an eye out for the other two project tutorials to complete your rustic table place setting set.
