Final Product: What You Will Create

    Preface:
The pack of 11 designs is listed in the product links, but each of the designs is sold separately.

    Step 1:
Read through the instructions thoroughly before beginning and assemble all the materials needed to complete the project. Choose a thread color that will coordinate with the fabrics being used. The embroidery thread is also used for stitching the coaster together.

    Step 2:
Layer the stabilizer on the bottom, then the batting, and the front fabric on the top and hoop them together.

    Step 3:
Load the chosen design on the machine. Thread the machine, and stitch the design. This is a “quilting” design. If you are satisfied with the stitching as it is then continue to step 5  , the assembly. If not, continue on.

    Step 4:
Because the fabric was a little darker than I would normally use, I decided to experiment a little bit by stitching the designs a second, and then a third time. It really punched up the stitching! You choose whether to stitch the design one, two, or three times. Other options are to use a little bit heavier thread or to run two threads through the needle of the same color and stitch. If using either of these two methods, stitch only once.

    Step 5:
Before removing the fabric from the hoop, mark the fabric on the outside beside the hoop tick marks; this will help in aligning and squaring up the embroidery.

    Step 6:
Using the tick marks, square up the fabric to 6.5”.

    Step 7:
Place the backing fabric wrong side up. Center and pin the embroidery over the square. On each side, press in so the cut edge of the backing fabric meets the cut edge of the embroidered piece and press. Fold again and press (double folded).

    Step 8:
Wind a bobbin with the embroidery thread, and thread the machine with the embroidery thread. Edge stitch the backing fabric in place on the left and right side.

    Step 9:
Double fold the top and bottom edges. Edge stitch them in place (use an awl to make sure the under fold doesn’t peek out from the end. Backstitch at both ends.

    Step 10:
Repeat for all the remaining coasters you want to stitch.

    Step 11:
Congratulations! Now pour some wine and enjoy your creations. Oh—and don’t forget to make several of these to use as hostess gifts and for wine tastings.
