Description

Planning a small Oktoberfest gathering? Why not stitch out a few whimsy embroidered Bar Mop towels for part of your party décor!

Materials
  • (2) BAR MOP TOWELS ( TOWELS USED IN THIS TUTORIAL WERE PURCHASED FROM TARGET STORE~ SIZE 16” X 18”)
  • EMBROIDERY THREAD – REFER TO THREAD COLOR CHART FOR EACH EMBROIDERY DESIGN
  • TEMPORARY ADHESIVE SPRAY
  • TEAR AWAY STABILIZER
  • AIR ERASE FABRIC MARKING PEN

    Final Product: What You Will Create

    Preface:
    Simple step by step instructions to follow for the beginner machine embroiderer in mind. Three embroidery designs are linked to this project. Each bar mop towel will take approximate 25- 45 minutes to complete based on the stitch out time of each
    embroidery design. Design sizes used in this tutorial: Drink Good Beer 4.47"x 4.40",
    I'll Clink To That 3.90"x 2.74", Beer Types 3.91" x 3.35"


    Step 1:
    Gather all supplies and review instructions before beginning. Print out paper templates of embroidery designs.

    Step 2:
    Load Drink Good Beer embroidery design into your machine.

    Step 3:
    Hoop a piece of tear away stabilizer using correct hoop size for design. Using pen/pencil mark axis lines directly onto stabilizer. (If needed this technique will help in centering bar mop towel onto stabilizer)

    Step 4:
    To find center of your towel fold in half horizontally and finger press to form a crease.
    (embroidery design was stitched on 18” side of towel in this tutorial) Your choice if your towel is not square in size

    Step 5:
    Center paper design template approximately 4” up from hemmed edge of bar mop towel to center of design. ( refer to picture ) Use your finger pressed crease as a guide. Mark axis points. Spray temporary adhesive spray onto hooped stabilizer. Lay bar mop towel atop matching up axis points to axis markings on your hoop.

    Step 6:
    Attach hoop to machine. Confirm center needle place per your machine’s instructions. If needed make any necessary adjustments. Refer to embroidery design thread color chart or your choice. Begin the embroidering process.

    Step 7:
    Embroidering complete.  Remove hoop from machine. Cut and trim all jump stitches and loose thread ends. Un-hoop towel. Carefully tear away stabilizer.  Iron press towel if needed.

    Step 8:
    And you are done! Great job! Repeat the steps for the other embroidery designs.
