Final Product: What You Will Create

Preface:

Bloom Where You Are Planted embroidery design with sunflowers on a gingham apron. Sunflowers are a perfect addition to your décor from late summer thru Thanksgiving. A single needle embroidery machine was used to embroider this project.

Step 1:

Gather & prepare the materials needed for the project. Read the directions before you begin the project. Iron and lightly starch the fabric. Print a design template. Embrilliance Essentials embroidery software was used to print the template.

Step 2:

Center the design template on the apron. The design was placed 2” down from the top of the apron. Adjust the placement based on the style of the apron. The design template is the exact size of the design & makes a great placement tool. An axis on the template makes centering a design easy. Measure down from the top and across from the sides. Pin the template in place.

Step 3:

Hoop one piece of medium weight cut away stabilizer. Mark the center point on the stabilizer. Center the design on the hoop. Lightly mist the stabilizer with 505 Temporary Adhesive spray. Gently press the runner onto the stabilizer. Fabric surface must be smooth and wrinkle free. Secure fabric to the stabilizer with Wonder Pins.

TIP: If you've never used Wonder Pins, the curved end makes pinning a snap. Fast & easy!

Step 4:

Check your needle size. Check the bobbin area for debris and stray bits of thread. Load the design on the embroidery machine. Attach the hoop. Load the design. The stitching field should be clear. Make sure that none of the apron is caught under your hoop. Embroider the design.

Step 5:

Remove the hoop. Trim long threads from the design if needed. Trim excess stabilizer leaving about ½” margin around the design.

Step 6:

Great job! Bloom where you are planted...
