Create a one of a kind Easter Basket with a blank canvas tote with handles and embroidering a whimsical saying along with an application of a painted SVG design stencil that ties it all together. Embroidery design size 3.85" x 3.91"
*Knowledge of cutting machine usage and how to prepare and cut vinyl for stencil is required. Time stated for completion of project is not including drying time. Please allow for additional time.
Step 1:
Gather all supplies and review instructions before beginning.

Step 2:
Bring into your cutting machine program the Chocolate Bunny SVG design. Cut design. Resize to 5” x 4.5”. Duplicate sized bunny design

Step 3:
Prepare vinyl for cutting on cutting mat. Adjust cut settings. Load cutting mat into cutting machine and cut vinyl.

Step 4:
Weed cut vinyl for stencils. Refer to picture. Cut and separate into two stencils. Apply transfer tape to both. Set aside as we will first embroider the design saying.

Step 5:
Bring embroidery design into your software program. Resize design to approximately a 4.5” x 4.5” design. Print out a paper template of embroidery design. If not using a software program. You will need to resize design per your embroidery machines instructions to fit once design is loaded. Load design into your machine. Place atop canvas tote to far left of tote the embroidery design paper template and to the right the bunny SVG stencil. Center designs as shown in picture. Remove the bunny SVG stencil as it was used as a guide to help center the embroidery design. Mark axis points.

Step 6:
Hoop stabilizer. Spray temporary adhesive spray directly onto stabilizer. Center and place tote atop stabilizer right side up matching marked axis points to markings on hoop. If needed spray additional temporary adhesive to secure. Attach hoop to machine. Confirm center needle placement. Begin the embroidering process. Refer to embroidery design thread color chart. ** Masking tape was used to hold back excess of tote to open the embroidering area. Make any adjustments as needed during the embroidering process to keep the embroidering area open.

Step 7:
Embroidering complete. Remove hoop. Cut and trim all jump stitches and loose thread ends. Tear away stabilizer.
Step 8:
Remove adhesive from back of bunny stencil. Position and center stencil onto tote. Remove transfer tape

Step 9:
Let’s get ready to paint! Fingertip press around the edges of the open area of stencil to prevent any paint seepage. Place a piece of cardstock inside of tote behind the area to be painted to avoid any bleeding through to the other side. Paint open area of bunny using your dark or chocolate brown paint and sponge roller. Allow to dry completely.

Step 10:
Remove stencil. Remove adhesive from back of grass stencil. Position and center in position. Finger press to secure. Remove transfer tape. Finger press around the edges of the open area of stencil to prevent any paint seepage. Paint open area of grass stencil. Allow to dry completely

Step 11:
Remove stencil. Optional: use the lighter color paint to add details onto the bunny. Allow to dry. Congratulations your Easter Tote Basket is finished! Just fill with Easter treats! Hoppy Easter!
