Padded Sunglasses Case Embroidery Project

Description

A super quick padded sunglasses case with a quirky embroidery design, you can't go wrong with this one.

Materials
  • 4” hoop
  • Tearaway stabilizer
  • 2 different printed cotton fabrics
  • Fusible fleece
  • Embroidery threads
  • Matching sewing thread
  • iron

    Final Product: What You Will Create


    Step 1:
    Gather the materials and read through the instructions before beginning. Have a copy of the color sequence on hand to refer to.

    Step 2:
    From the printed cotton, cut 1 x 7.5” square from each pattern and cut 1 x 6.5” square from the fusible fleece. Select which fabric you are using for the outer of the case, fold that in half and mark the centre of the fabric to indicate the centre of the embroidery design. Hoop the stabilizer and fabric and stitch out the design

    Step 3:
    Once the design is stitched out, unhoop and tearaway the stabilizer. lay the fusible fleece to the reverse side of the embroidered piece and press to fuse. Now lay the 2 fabrics together, right sides facing and pin together. Cut the bottom 2 corners to make them curved. Then stitch around the edges using a 10mm seam allowance. Ensure to leave a 2” gap at the top to turn it through.

    Step 4:
    Trim the corners and turn it right sides out. Pin the opening closed then topstitch using a ¼” seam along the top edge only

    Step 5:
    Fold the case in half, insides facing, and pin together then stitch down the side and around the bottom only, using a ¼” seam.

    Step 6:
    Your sunglasses case is ready to go
