Fishing fun in the summer sun! One fish, two fish, three fish, more; How many fish are you fishing for? Something for Little Fishing Buddies and REEL great dads! Super cute idea for a birth announcement, baby shower gift, father's day, etc. A single needle embroidery machine was used to stitch this project.
Step 1:
Read the directions before beginning the project. Gather and collect the materials and supplies. Print out template of each design. A trial version of Embrilliance Essentials can be used to print out the design template if you do not have an embroidery software program.

Step 2:
Placement: Fold the shirt in half. Match the seams at the sides and shoulders together. Press a crease on the fold line with an iron.
Step 3:
Place the shirt on a flat surface. Use the design template as a placement guide. Match the vertical line on the design template with the crease line on the shirt. An embroiderer's helper tool works well for design placements on T-shirts.
Step 4:
Place the design template about 1.5-3” down from the neckline. Pin the design template onto the shirt.
Step 5:
Stabilizing: Turn the shirt wrong side out. Follow the SF101 shape flex directions to fuse the interfacing to the t-shirt.
Step 6:
Floating Hoop Method: Hoop one piece of tear away stabilizer in a 4"x4" hoop. Mark the center point on the stabilizer. Match the center point on the design template on the onesie to the center point on the stabilizer. Use the axis points to finish centering the onesie on the stabilizer. Pin the onesie to the stabilizer. Fold and pin the rest of the onesie out of the stitching area.
Step 7:
Load the Fishing Buddy design onto your machine. A 75/11 embroidery needle is suggested to stitch this project. Put one piece of water soluble topping over the stitching field. Stitch the design using the color chart as a guide.
Step 8:
After stitching has completed, remove the hoop from the machine. Gently tear away the stabilizer from the back of the onesie. Trim long threads if needed.
Step 9:
Cut one piece of Soft Stitch fusible embroidery stitch cover up slightly larger than the stitched design.
Step 10:
Follow package directions to fuse the Stitch Cover to the onesie.
Step 11:
You've completed a Fishing Buddy onesie!
Step 12:
Adult T-shirt: The process for stitching on adult T-shirts is very similar to onesies. Fold the t-shirt in half. Match the shoulder seams and underarms. Press a crease on the fold line.

Step 13:
Placement: Placement is for the left chest of the shirt. An Embroidery Buddy for shirts makes placement easy. Simply line the size of the shirt on the Embroidery Buddy at the fold and shoulder seam.
Step 14:
The corner of the Embroidery Helper fits into the left upper part of the design. Pin the design template in place on the t-shirt. If you do not have a placement tool, go 6" down from the top shoulder and centered between the fold and arm sleeve for S-L shirts.
Step 15:
Turn the shirt wrong side out. Cut a piece of SF101 slightly larger than the design dimensions.
Step 16:
Follow the package instructions to fuse the SF101 shape flex interfacing to the t-shirt.
Step 17:
Hoop one piece of 2.0 cutaway stabilizer. Mark the center point on the stabilizer. Match the center points on the design template and stabilizer. Lightly mist the stabilizer with temporary adhesive spray. Float the t-shirt on the stabilizer. Secure the shirt with pins if needed.
Step 18:
Place one piece of water soluble topping over the stitching field. Attach the hoop. Stitch the design.
Step 19:
Remove the hoop from the machine. Gently tear away the water soluble topping. Use the honey comb tip on a Fix-a-Seam seam ripper to remove any remaining water soluble topping.
Step 20:
Trim the excess stabilizer from around the design leaving about 1/2" margin.
Step 21:
You have finished a set of Fishing Buddy shirts. Great job!
