Final Product: What You Will Create

    Step 1:
Gather the materials and read through the instructions before beginning. Have a copy of the color sequence on hand to refer to.

    Step 2:
Around the hood of the towel, there is generally a binding as this finishes the edge around the towel and hood. You will need to unpick the stitching of the binding. I have unpicked it to the corner, or top of the hood. This allows enough room to embroider just the hood.

    Step 3:
once you unpick the binding, separate the hood piece and mark the centre where you want your design to be positioned. Hoop the stabilizer. I have chosen to float my hood, so I have pinned it to the stabilizer, attached the hoop to the machine and overlayed the solvy then stitched a tack down stitch to hold it all in place. Stitch out the elephant design.

    Step 4:
Unhoop and tearaway as much of the stabilizers as possible. As the back of the design will be against baby’s head, I have applied a piece of woven iron on interfacing so it is soft against the head.

    Step 5:
Now lay the hood piece back over the towel and pin the binding back in place. Stitch it in place, ensuring you catch the back of the binding as well

    Step 6:
Now to embroider the face washer. You want to combine the bubbles design with the font. So choose the font letters to make the words “bath time” and position the words under the bubbles design. Mark the position on your face washer, I have choosen to embroider the design on an angle in the corner of the face washer. Hoop the stabilizer, float and pin down the face washer, lay the solvy on top and use the tack down stitch again to hold it all in place. Stitch out the design.

This beautiful towel set is now complete and a perfect gift for a newborn baby.
