Final Product: What You Will Create

    Preface:
A simple starter project, ideal for sewing and embroidery beginners with some experience. Three cut pieces to sew together along with an embroidery design that brings this Father’s Day project all together.

    Step 1:
Gather all materials and review instructions before beginning.  Please have on a hand a sheet of gift tissue paper.  Note "tip" below.

Tip: The faux leather tends to stick to your pressure foot as well as your bobbin plate, so when stitching on faux leather lay a piece of gift wrap tissue paper on top of area that is being stitched and float a piece underneath . The needle will perforate tissue for easy removal.

Cut a piece of stabilizer a bit larger than your hoop.   Hoop the sticky stabilizer. Score the top paper with a straight pin. Remove the top paper to reveal the sticky side. Mark your center axis points onto stabilizer.

    Step 4:
Center your cut flap piece ( 6" x 8 1/2") on top of stabilizer matching up axis points. Fingertip press to secure.

    Step 7:
    Placement of pocket

Center and place cut pocket piece ( 6" x 5") 1” down from top edge of body. Attach by sewing a straight stitch from top to bottom of pocket on each side using a ¼” seam allowance. Stitch bottom of pocket edge using ¼” seam allowance.

Tip: The faux leather tends to stick to your pressure foot as well as your bobbin plate, so when stitching on faux leather lay a piece of gift wrap tissue paper on top of area that is being stitched and float a piece underneath . The needle will perforate tissue for easy removal.
