Make an adorable Santa Candy Dish using an applique design and a bit of creativity! A sweet addition to the holiday season!
Step 1:
Gather the materials. Print a design template and color chart. Read the directions very carefully.

Step 2:
Hoop the tear-away stabilizer. Mark the center point and axis on the stabilizer.

Step 3:
Take one piece of the 5”x5” white duck cloth and fold in half. Press along the fold line to make a light crease in the fabric. Fold the piece again in half. Press along the fold line to make a light crease in the fabric. Place the folded square on the stabilizer in the hoop in the upper right corner. Using the grid and axis as a guideline.
Lightly mist the stabilizer using a temporary adhesive spray. Unfold the square aligning the axis and grid with the creases on the fabric. Gently press the fabric onto the stabilizer. Surface should be smooth and wrinkle free.

Step 4:
Turn the hoop so that the wrong side is facing you. Lightly mist the surface with temporary adhesive spray.Gently press the second piece of 5”x5” white duck cloth on the stabilizer. Match sure the placement matches the piece on the front side.

Step 5:
Cut one 3.5”x3.5” piece of Heat n Bond lite. Cut two 2.5” x 4.5” pieces of Heat n Bond lite. Follow package directions to adhere the Heat n Bond lite to the 3.5”x3.5” and 2.5”x2.5” pieces of fabric.

Step 6:
Load the embroidery design on your machine. The design is a combination of applique and decorative stitches. Follow the color stops as a guide. Stitch the design.

Step 7:
Remove the hoop from the machine. Tear away the stabilizer from around the fabric.

Step 8:
Follow the Heat n Bond package directions to adhere the appliqued pieces onto the white fabric.

Step 9:
Trim excess fabric from around Santa. Snip stray thread from the back if needed.

Step 10:
The Santa design is complete. Get your materials to construct the candy dish.

Step 11:
Glue the ribbon onto the glass cube. Trim ribbon as needed.

Step 12:
Fold the felt in half lengthwise. Pin together. Cut the felt in an uneven pattern to resemble melting snow.

Step 13:
Glue the felt around the top edge of the cube.
Step 14:
Glue Santa onto the front of one side of the cube.

Step 15:
Congrats! You completed your project! Just in time for the holiday season!
