Final Product: What You Will Create

    Preface:
I have fully enclosed my cushion cover, you could insert a zip if you’d like to allow removal of the insert.

    Step 1:
Gather the materials and read through the instructions before beginning. Have a copy of the color sequence on hand for reference

    Step 2:
Cut 2 x 16” squares of crushed velvet and hoop only the stabilizer, you don’t want to hoop the velvet as it will cause hoop burn. I want my feather to be positioned in the bottom left hand corner, so I have positioned my fabric accordingly on the hoop. Ensure the design is set to the bottom left corner on your machine program also. Spray the reverse side of the velvet with spray adhesive and press down onto the stabilizer, I have also used pins to hold it in place. Attach the hoop to your machine and place the solvy on top of the fabric then run a tack down stitch to hold it all in place. Stitch out the feather design.

    Step 3:
Once complete, remove the hoop. You now need to cut away the stabilizer on the back and tear away the solvy on the front. If you are not able to remove all the solvy, you may need to soak the design to remove the rest.

    Step 4:
Lay your cut 2 squares down, right sides together and pin all the way around but leave an opening at the bottom to allow you to turn out the cover and also insert the cushion insert. Stitch a ½” seam all the way around, leaving the opening. Then turn through the cushion cover.

    Step 5:
Insert the cushion insert then pin closed the opening. You then want to hand stitch the opening closed. You can now enjoy your luxurious cushion.
