Materials
  • 4x4 hoop
  • 2 layers of water dissolvable backing
  • 3 thread colors of your choice (I have repeated 1 color)
  • 1 tassle

  • Designs used in this project

Final Product: What You Will Create

    Preface:
When stitching FSL designs, I always wind my bobbins with the same color thread so the back looks the same

    Step 1:
Gather the materials and read through the instructions before beginning. Have a copy of the color sequence on hand to refer to

    Step 2:
Hoop the 2 layers of water disolvable backing then load the design onto your machine and attach the hoop

    Step 3:
Stitch out the 3 color design

    Step 4:
Remove the hoop from the machine and unhoop your design. Trim jump threads and loosely cut around the design leaving about 1” of backing all the way around

    Step 5:
Now to dissolve the backing, fully submerge the design into water, ensuring you follow the manufacturers directions for the backing. Leave the design submerged for a few minutes to allow the backing to dissolve

    Step 6:
Remove your design and lay flat on paper towel. It is best to leave the design to dry overnight.

    Step 7:
Now attach the tassle by threading the loop through the hole then looping it around the tassle and pull to secure

    Step 8:
Your beautiful FSL bookmark is now complete.
