Final Product: What You Will Create

    Preface:
This sweatshirt is fun to do and the washable glitter paint adds a little glitz to the finished embroidery.

    Step 1:
Gather the materials and read through the instructions before beginning. Print out a paper template of the design and color sequence.

    Step 2:
Fold the sweatshirt in half matching the shoulder, arm, and side seams. Lightly press along the center front. Cut out the paper template of the design. Measure down about 3-3.5” (depends on size) and place the top of the paper template at this position and centered along the pressed line. Double check the position of the template. The sweatshirt may have to be stitched upside down to allow the excess sweatshirt to be in the correct position for stitching on the machine. Hoop the fabric with two layers of poly mesh stabilizer.

    Step 3:
Be sure the stabilizer is smooth and all the excess fabric is up over the hoop. When the shirt is on the machine, be sure the sweatshirt won’t be caught underneath the hoop or interfere with the movement of the arm of the machine.

    Step 4:
Load the design on the machine and rotate the design if the sweatshirt was hooped upside down. Align the needle to the center crosshairs on the paper template. Remove the template and place a piece of water soluble stabilizer on top of the fabric.

    Step 5:
Stitch the design following the color sequence. Trim the excess stabilizer.

    Step 6:
Steam away the water soluble stabilizer. Cut a piece of freezer paper larger than the embroidery design and place the shiny side against the back of the embroidery. With a low iron, press the freezer paper to the back of the sweatshirt over the stitching. Pour out a small amount of paint and follow the manufacturer’s directions for applying the pain to the fabric inside the ribbon with the artist’s brush and in other areas as desired. Dry as instructed.

    Step 7:
Allow the paint to dry thoroughly and remove the freezer paper.

    Step 8:
Congratulations on creating a fun winter time sweatshirt for the snowy days ahead.
